Star Citizen update highlights Siege of Orison, with 4.10 preview aiming to improve instancing

Star Citizen’s latest reported updates are centered on the return of the Siege of Orison event, alongside broader gameplay and performance changes.

According to a post on the game’s 4.9 Live update, the patch introduces Siege of Orison as a large-scale, dynamic conflict in the city of Orison. The same update is said to add new exploration areas such as Northrock, while also including ship-handling and weapon-balancing adjustments, user interface improvements, inventory and mission-tracking refinements, and a general round of bug fixes and performance optimizations.

A separate 4.10 preview, described in a Star Citizen community video update, focuses on instancing improvements for Siege of Orison. That preview reportedly emphasizes backend stability, performance work, revised respawning, anti-griefing measures, and longer quantum drive spool times. The update also suggests additional testing is planned ahead of release, with players being asked to share feedback.

Taken together, the two updates point to a mix of new event content and technical changes designed to make large-scale city combat more stable and less frustrating for players. The 4.10 work, in particular, appears aimed at supporting a better Siege of Orison experience if and when the event returns in instanced form.
