Star Citizen Alpha 4.10 adds instanced missions, combat tuning and fuel changes

Star Citizen alpha 4.10 is now live, bringing a mix of mission tech changes, combat updates and broader quality-of-life fixes.

The biggest addition appears to be instancing for missions, with the Siege of Orison event serving as the main example. Rather than putting all players into the same shared space, the new system creates separate mission instances, which is meant to reduce overcrowding and interference during large activities. Sources describe the event as a more coordinated FPS-focused mission that is intended for small groups.

The patch also adds or highlights a number of gameplay balance changes. These include revised quantum fuel mechanics, adjustments to armor and weapons, and the introduction of new heavy armor and heavy machine guns. Some reports also point to changes in environmental behavior, AI, ship availability and general gameplay tuning.

Beyond new content, the update focuses heavily on fixes. RSI says the release closes hundreds of bug fixes, including crashes, mission failures and stability issues. The patch notes also mention improvements to hauling and cargo contracts, bounty and combat missions, and other systems tied to inventory, ship recovery, docking and travel.

Community coverage says the update is part of a broader effort to improve the live experience, with instancing and bug fixes standing out as the most visible changes in 4.10.
