Once we can confirm things are going ok I’ll have more updates for you all on further plans for the client side and the HOTFIX channel

New FPS Updates from Zac

Hey guys, wanted to share some upcoming FPS changes!

We have some upcoming changes to FPS gameplay that I’m sure people will love!

- TTK & Armour adjustments
To ensure pure realism we’ve Adjusted armours to more accurately reflect their intended purpose

- Heavy armour
Players can no longer aim, sprint, move or aim when wearing heavy armour
Players cannot be ran over or knocked over by vehicles
Increased damage resistance to 99%

**- Light armour **
Removed movement speed cap

- Clothes
Adjusted all clothes to give +5 Charisma and +1 Rule of cool

- Time To Kill
TTK now scales depending on your current task
For example if you are mining you will have much higher health allowing you to react to combat engagements
Health is decreased permanently for each sniper glint post you’ve made on spectrum
Drunken status effect now also increases your HP but decreases your accuracy

- Player Movement
Implemented dolphin diving, cart wheeling and tactical prone rolling

Rifles

- Parallax Rifle
Removed this weapon until volt guy posts 500 more times

- P8-AR
Due to the art having a full auto switch on we’ve decided it would be best to allow this weapon to be fully automatic
Damage is the same (Lore accurate)

- S71
To keep in line with Gemini branding we’ve also decided to allow this weapon to be fully automatic but reduced the damage to keep it authentic and allow players to feel ā€˜cool’

- Gallant
Re-introduced fully automatic fire mode (sorry for removing it)

- Snipers
Removed sniper glint
Implemented a full screen pop up window that informs you when a sniper is aiming at you to ensure a fair playing field for snipers max distance

- SMGs
Removed the custodian ability to deal damage (Due to it’s large magazine size)
Lumin V damage decreased so it can go back to it’s intended purpose of being a sign to make fun of people who enjoy burst weapons

- Shotguns
Deadrigs aim down sight time increased to 4
Deadrig spread when aiming down sight decreased to 0
introduced a slot machine UI that shows on screen when firing the deadrig, 3 Xs mean you can 1 tap an enemy

- R97
Equips a clown hat when using this weapon

- LMGs
FS9 magazine size reduced to 15

- Pistols
CODA now does extra damage if wearing a cowboy hat
Yubarev tweaked to be less of a meme

- Creatures
Added Saddles to be able to mount any creature
These can be summoned and unsummoned with a whistle

:fallen_leaf:(Tuesday) We have tested multiple hotfixes on the LIVE servers with multiple updates to help with interaction delays, long load times, invalid location IDs, Hangars leaking, DGS/Hybrid Crashes, exploits, and more and are planning a Maintenance Window for 2025-04-02 @ 1300 UTC to accelerate the rollout of these beneficial changes.

sc-testing-chat | Wakapedia-CIG: :alien_monster: At the top of the hour we will be opening up the HOTFIX channel that will point to LIVE for client-side hotfix testing. This update has fixes for multiple client crashes as well as an issue where FPS AI were attacking the player corpses instead of the alive players

This first hotfix for 4.1 LIVE includes many fixes for issues encountered since the LIVE release.

Client

  • Fixes for multiple client crashes
  • Fix for an issue causing FPS AI to attack downed player corpses instead of the alive players

Server

  • Fixes multiple DGS crashes
  • Updates to resolve multiple Align and Mine Blocking Issues
  • Updates to stop some Align and Mine Exploits
  • Fixed an issue causing several medical rooms to be missing from Landing Zone Clinics

Hybrid

  • Fixes to massively reduce high hybrid-service pings causing multiple interaction delay and other issues
  • Fixes for multiple hybrid-service crashes
  • Further updates to help reduce players getting stuck with long load times in the PU
  • Updates to help stop players getting stuck with an ā€œInvalid Location IDā€ black screen upon death

(Wednesday) Maintenance complete and a new hotfix build is now available on the LIVE channel. For more information on the hotfix please check out the hotfix central post!

Current goal is to start up PTU as early as next week with 4.1.1 builds.

  • Potential Fix: PU - Cargo / Commodities - The player can autoload cargo with the vehicle unstowed, causing the cargo to be stuck to the vehicle grid**

:fallen_leaf:(Waka’s Day) We are currently working on a new 4.1.0 Client/DGS HOTFIX and are planning on opening up the HOTFIX channel for client testing with 4 crash fixes early today. The DGS hotfix has potential landing gear clutter fixes that we are testing on select shards.

We are also working through the blocking issues for 4.1.1 and may have a new build for Evocati today or tomorrow if all goes well. Goal is to accelerate 4.1.1 waves asap after a couple Evocati publishes.

Bug Fixes

SC Alpha 4.1.1 contains over 100 bugfixes for issues occurring in 4.1.0, 23 of which originated from the Issue Council

  • Potential Fix: Players report being matched to shards that are no longer active, leading to a loading timeout; if they attempt character repair, it fails as it tries to force stow their character on the dead shard
  • Potential Fix: Disconnection error 60012 - some accounts are unable to join a game server
  • Potential Fix: PU - Exploit - Pyro / Stanton - Landing Zones / Contested Zones (CZ) - Actor / Animation / Emote / Doors - Flex emote can be used to clip into locked doors with a door panel on the other side to unlock the doors (Also disabled interaction while in an emotion animation)
  • Potential Fix: PU - Deadhead Helmet Lucky Break - Subscription Gear / Armor / UI / Graphic - The entire screen is distorted while wearing the helmet
  • Potential Fix: PU - Hathor - OLP - Removing the card before pressing the button will break the laser firing mechanic
  • Potential Fix: Crusader Hercules Starlifter - ALL VARIANTS - PU - Vehicle / Ramp - When the Ramp is Opened, the Starlifter shift off balance

  • We have further client/dgs fixes going into a hotfix now for a possible new build on the HOTFIX channel later today

sc-testing-chat | Wakapedia-CIG: :alien_monster: We’re still investigating the surface mineables issue and have a very strong lead and a build internally for testing for a possible fix. Will know more by tomorrow if this happens to help

For today, we are compatibility checking a new 4.1.0 LIVE hotfix to replace the current one on the HOTFIX channel and hopefully have that up in the next couple hours. This has extra fixes for a couple issues:

  • Has Further fixes for the MFD client crash when entering ships for some players
  • PU - Actor - Inventory / Interactions - Cannot hold anything through ā€œCarryā€ from Inventory into Hands unless item is dropped
