Star Citizen’s Anvil Liberator Continues Graybox Development
Cloud Imperium Games says the Anvil Liberator is continuing through greybox development, with work focused on refining its interior and adding major exterior hardware.
In its August 2026 monthly report, the studio said much of the Liberator’s interior is being refined as developers finalize the requirements of its individual spaces. The team has also integrated the ship’s main thrusters, maneuvering thrusters and landing gear.
The next stage of work will add detail to the hull’s technical areas while following Anvil Aerospace’s established manufacturing style, according to the report.
The Liberator is a planned light transport carrier designed to move smaller spacecraft and ground vehicles. Its intended role could make it useful for groups deploying vehicles or ships away from established hubs, though the ship is not yet available in Star Citizen.
Cloud Imperium did not provide a release date for the Liberator in the report. Community coverage has suggested a potential 2027 arrival, but that timing has not been confirmed by the developer.
