Star Citizen Alpha 4.11 Reportedly Moves to Q4 2026 as Planet Tech Work Continues

Star Citizen’s Alpha 4.11 update has reportedly moved from a third-quarter target to Q4 2026, giving Cloud Imperium Games more time for development and testing on a patch centered on new planetary-generation technology and Nyx-system content.

The shift has been reported in community coverage of a September roadmap update. Cloud Imperium Games has not provided an exact launch date in the material available, and speculation that the patch could arrive in October remains unconfirmed.

Alpha 4.11 has a broad scope. In its official August roadmap roundup, CIG marked several 4.11 items as Tentative, including Nyx I, the Starchitect Mission Pack, Genesis: Planet Tech v5, Genesis: Starchitect, the Genesis Population Manager and Starchitect points of interest.

Planet Tech v5 is described by CIG as a rework of how planets are built, populated and rendered. The planned system would introduce biomes based on physical properties, alter terrain shading, and shift some generation and spawning work to the GPU in an effort to support denser environments and improve rendering performance.

Starchitect, meanwhile, is intended to procedurally place sectors, clusters and locations across planetary bodies using modular tiles and Genesis data. Associated points of interest are planned as faction-owned ground locations that can support varied mission types, while the Population Manager is designed to balance server populations and create inhabitants suited to local environments.

Other tentative 4.11 additions listed in August included heavy combat armor, eyebrow customization updates, two Kastak Arms weapons—the Verdict LMG and Hellion pistol—and a new Wikelo’s Emporium contract reward, the Aegis Tiburon.

Community reports have also linked the delay to the need for stability and performance work following earlier updates. Those accounts should be treated cautiously: roadmap cards are not release guarantees, and CIG can still alter the patch’s content or timing before launch.

In the nearer term, Alpha 4.10.1 has been undergoing testing, with reported fixes and optimization work focused on issues including ship retrieval, hangars, freight elevators and cargo-related systems. The smaller update is also expected to include an Orison relief event with account-bound rewards, according to community coverage.

For now, the reported Q4 window gives the development team additional time on one of Star Citizen’s more technically ambitious planned alpha updates, but players are still awaiting a confirmed release date and final feature list.
