Star Citizen Ship Update - RSI Galaxy, Constellation MK5 & New Vehicles Incoming!

The September update on Star Citizen ships and vehicles highlights several key releases and developments expected throughout late 2026 and into 2027. Four major release windows remain this year, including the delayed alpha 4.11 patch anticipated around October, the absence of Citizen Con but a potential Squadron 42 event coinciding with Star Citizen’s birthday in early October, the large Intergalactic Aerospace Expo in late November to early December, and possibly an end-of-year patch. Besides these major events, smaller patches and events may also introduce new ships and vehicles.

One of the most anticipated ships is the RSI Galaxy, a large, modular multi-role vessel with interchangeable modules such as cargo bays, medbays, and refineries. Although it recently reached its gray box gate review, it likely still requires significant work before release, making a delay probable. The Drake Kraken, a massive light assault carrier and mobile space station, is progressing well in development and is planned for release in May 2027. Similarly, the Anvil Liberator, a light carrier designed to transport multiple ships and vehicles, is advancing through its growbox phase and is expected around mid-2027.

Several unannounced ships and vehicles are nearing completion, with three close to final release stages and others in various development phases. One newly entered pre-production ship is also underway. Rumors suggest a new RSI Constellation Mark 5 variant may debut around the October Squadron 42 event, updating but not replacing the current Constellation models. Additionally, crafting-focused ships like the Anvil Auxilia, a mobile fabrication center (MFC), and the Consolidated Outland Forge are expected once the necessary crafting and cargo grid technology is implemented.

Other potential upcoming ships include an Origin medium fighter to fill a gap in the lineup, a Grace Market ship based on the Mustang hull, and possible Drake heavy fighter variants. Some ships remain “missing in action,” such as the Pioneer base-builder, the Legionnaire specialized boarding ship dependent on hacking technology, and the Banning Merchant, which may not see development until 2027 or later. These projects are anticipated to align with broader gameplay features like base building and advanced ship mechanics.

The update concludes with a community engagement note, promoting a September ship giveaway featuring the Krueger S65 Stingray medium fighter, along with affiliate links for VPNs and VR gear to enhance the Star Citizen experience.
