Star Citizen’s 4.10 patch delivers extensive bug fixes, gameplay improvements, and new features including persistent ore and commodity containers, a new mission-giver named Wikelo with crafting-focused missions, and overhauled loot and fuel mechanics that add depth to ship maintenance. Additionally, the update introduces ship claim timer adjustments, new weapons, clothing, ship availability changes, and the live Siege of Orison event, enhancing overall player experience and progression stability.
Star Citizen’s 4.10 patch brings a massive wave of improvements, fixing 479 bugs, 47 crash issues, and 17 exploits, making it one of the most extensive patches to date. While 46 known issues remain, such as components catching fire and mining gadgets not placeable in EVA, the majority of gameplay problems have been addressed. Key fixes include resolving hauling missions with no cargo, bounty target spawns, patrol contract progressions, and various mission-related bugs. Additionally, several ship and gameplay mechanics glitches, like refueling ships losing fuel and player ships becoming unresponsive, have been corrected.
A major highlight of the update is the introduction of long-term persistence for ore and commodity containers. This feature means players no longer need to clear refinery orders or use up ore before patching, as their resources will now persist across sessions moving forward. Ship loadouts from previous patches also remain intact upon claiming ships in 4.10, enhancing player convenience and stability in gameplay progression.
Wikelo, a new mission-giver, has been added with a focus on gear and blueprint acquisition rather than quick profit. His missions include mining, recovery, and crafting, requiring players to gather items and craft blueprints for him. Wikelo also offers new gear, including snow camo, super heavy armor, a heavy machine gun, and the Aegis Tibberon ship. His mission system simplifies item turn-ins by consolidating them into blueprint crafting, reducing player risk and streamlining the process.
The patch also overhauls loot tables and fuel mechanics. Weapon caches now hold significantly more items, with increased chances for large attachments and rare weapons like heavy machine guns. Medical and repair loot containers have been adjusted to improve item distribution. Fuel management has become more critical, with reduced tank sizes and fuel consumption requiring players to refuel more frequently, especially on longer flights. Refueling missions have been rebalanced accordingly, adding more depth to ship maintenance gameplay.
Finally, numerous ship updates and new content have been introduced. Ship claim timers now scale with size, and weapons contribute to claim costs, with expedited claims available for a fee. Prices for ship ordinance have increased, and new weapons like rail guns and heavy machine gun magazines are now purchasable. The update also adds new clothing, replaces the Aurora Mark 1 with the Mark 2, and makes several ships available at new locations. The Siege of Orison event is live, offering players opportunities for fun, rewards, and crafting, rounding out a robust and player-focused patch.
