Gameplay

  • Added slight boundary violation grace time to Planet Kill Volumes for vehicles. (This may help with many random deaths while flying close to planet surfaces and water)

Ships and Vehicles

  • Made Hornet and Arrow Aerodynamic adjustments to avoid unintended behaviors while Yawing in atmosphere

  • Fixed - PU - Stanton - Audio / Locations - While in your personal hangar, you can hear the sound from other players’ hangars (STARC-118500)
  • Fixed - PU - Area18 - Hangars - Locations / Ships - Ships can spawn at the bottom of the ship elevator without being raised up preventing access (STARC-120015)
  • Fixed - PU - Stanton - Lorville - ASOP / Fleet Manager - UI - The ASOP terminals for ground vehicles at Lorville gates get stuck on infinite load, accessing list of ships (STARC-108960)
  • Fixed - Multivehicle - PU - Vehicles - When docking or retrieving a ship to a docking port at a station, the docking arm will not extend (STARC-86292)
  • Fixed - PU - Game options - ESP curvature tuning does not save between play sessions (STARC-119986)
  • Fixed - PU - Stanton - Cargo Hauling - Mission Content / Game Code - Cargo crates can be counted towards multiple objectives (STARC-120999)

(Thursday) Tonight’s build failed validation so we are going to hold off a publish and work on more fixes for a new build on Friday along with a hopeful Weekend playtest of Blockade Runner. See you all tomorrow!

(Friday) We are currently building a new 3.24 release for PTU later today. Goal is to run this build with Blockade Runner over the weekend as well as a possible Wave 2 opening if certain bugfixes resolve blocking issues.

[PTU Weekend Playtest] Blockade Runner

Hello PTU Testers!

This weekend starting at 11am CDT | 16:00 UTC we have a new global event Blockade Runner playtest running through Monday morning on the 3.24 PTU servers!

Playtest Information

Ruthless criminal factions are raiding low-orbit stations across the system, interrupting the supply chain and intercepting vast quantities of the critical resource Zeta-Prolanide. It’s a grim scene, but that’s where you come in.
The CDF, local militias, security forces, and even rival outlaws are gonna need to step up to break the enemy blockade, take these stations back, and secure any stolen resources.

  • Global Event Mission will give instructions on what needs to be done. Let us know how well the descriptions and information are!
  • There are 4 possible LEOs the mission can take place at and will rotate throughout the weekend
  • Mission will end on Monday morning 11am CDT | 16:00 UTC

  • Fixed - PU - PersonalHangar/ Elevator - Transit - When using the elevator with different size hangar options the listed destinations can take you to different locations than selected (STARC-119899)
  • Fixed Cargo Grid Hardpoint Position - RSI Aurora Series - ( ALL VARIANTS ) - Stanton - Ships - Core Tech - Collision / Cargo - The cargo grid of the Aurora is very difficult to use with a tractor beam and can cause ship destruction (STARC-60944)
  • Fixed - PU - Locations - Personal Hangars / ASOP - After retrieving two vehicles inside hangar and destroy them player cannot retrieve any vehicle
  • Fixed - PU - UI - Item Bank / Storage Access - withdraw - attempting to withdraw items from item storage kiosk results in infinite load

We’re going to be keeping it to Wave 1 tonight due to some pretty frustrating transit bugs. We’re going to look at it in the morning to see what is happening and see what we can do then!

In tonight’s build with are testing a slight mitigation that is causing landing zone performance issues due to hab items falling through floors and piling up and causing large physics costs. This build will make hab items static for now to see if this helps reduce the performance costs. This is a temporary test to see how much of an improvement this is before a full fix for items falling through floors is implimented

Gameplay

  • Tractor Beam Use Adjustments
  • Tractor Beam use on the multi-tool has had its cargo mass balanced to restrict use to cargo sizes under 32 SCU (multi-tool can no-longer move 32 SCU crates) and to reduce usable distance. Both handheld tractor beams have had their movement speeds reduced.
  • Item Bank UI Changes
  • Based on feedback we determined the Storage Access flow was not providing the results we wanted. We’ve thus changed it to open a filtered view of the Warehouse inventory to only show FPS gear, like the Storage Access kiosk did.
  • Cargo Hauling Mission Changes
  • Greatly Increased Cargo Hauling Mission Rewards. Allowed players to retrieve cargo for shared missions where they aren’t the original mission owner. Set Hauling Intro missions to not be shareable.

Ships and Vehicles

  • Removed SDFs and Shields from Spindles and Attached Cargo of the Hull-C

Core Tech

  • Made Further Ship Debris Collision Physics Performance Improvements
  • Entity Count Performance Polish for Hurston
