No Man’s Sky’s Forsaken update brings horror scavenging, ship modules and courier missions

Hello Games has released the Forsaken update for No Man’s Sky, adding a horror-tinged scavenging activity, new ship-building options and several exploration-focused quality-of-life features.

The update sends players to hunt for biological samples and other “haunting mementos” in locations including deep-space hulk wrecks, infested outposts, derelict freighters and palaeontological dig sites. The search carries an added risk: Hello Games says hostile boundary horrors can appear while players harvest the collectibles.

Those items can be exchanged with newly introduced Forsaken traders, who appear around deep-space outposts. According to the developer, the traders offer a selection of corvette modules in return for suitable offerings. Community guides report that the broader reward pool includes organic and biomechanical-looking ship components, cockpit options and other themed equipment.

One reported reward is the Larva Cannon multi-tool. Guides say players can obtain it by trading five preserved grubs to a Forsaken Trader, though the exact collection and processing steps are based on player reports rather than the developer’s update overview.

Forsaken also adds haulage or courier missions, creating delivery-focused jobs across star systems. Other changes include a minimal-HUD setting that reduces the compass, hazard bars, mission notifications and non-essential markers, as well as a radial menu for switching multi-tool modes.

For travel, players can now initiate a warp to a nearby system directly from their cockpit by locking onto a visible star, reducing the need to enter the galaxy map for every short jump. The update additionally includes new corvette interiors and cockpits, space-base uploads and sharing, and space holo-arenas, according to Hello Games’ social-media announcement.

The launch coincides with No Man’s Sky becoming available on iOS. Hello Games says the mobile release provides the full game experience with a touch-focused interface and optimizations intended to support longer sessions on mobile devices.
