Star Citizen’s distribution centers will offer a variety of missions, attracting players for combat, commerce, theft, infiltration, and sabotage. With unique ownership and multiple gameplay options, the centers aim to provide an exciting and chaotic multiplayer experience, featuring challenges like accessing the exterior, defending against threats, dropping off cargo, and overcoming security guards and turrets.
In a recent update on Star Citizen’s distribution centers, Jared provided some key information. The centers will feature both above and below ground positions, with various missions associated with the location. These missions will attract players for different gameplay reasons, such as combat, commerce, theft, infiltration, and sabotage. The centers are almost completed and are expected to be released in version 3.2.
Each distribution center is owned by a unique entity, some of which are friendly and some hostile, depending on the player’s reputation. The centers will have landing pads outside, a lobby with living quarters and kitchens, and a main body housing the warehouse. Additionally, there will be variable rooms for cargo shops, storage, work, security, and restrooms, all connected by corridors with multiple paths.
Accessing the exterior of the center will be challenging, as it requires maneuvering through a large cargo door in space. However, players are encouraged to overcome this limitation and test the feature. The main focus of the centers is to provide a variety of multiplayer gameplay options, including aggressive lawful, unaggressive lawful, aggressive unlawful, and unaggressive unlawful missions. Players will have to defend against distress calls, take out threats, and drop off cargo.
For those seeking a non-combat approach, they can avoid confrontation by dropping off cargo. On the other hand, players who choose the unlawful path can infiltrate the center to assassinate a VIP or steal valuables. This creates a dynamic where different players are pitted against each other. To add an extra challenge, there will be security guards and turrets to overcome. The developers hope that all these features will result in an exciting and chaotic gameplay experience.
