X4: Foundations Diplomacy Update (8.00) ✨ Public Beta Now Available

The X4: Foundations Diplomacy Update (version 8.00) introduces a comprehensive new political system featuring a revamped diplomacy interface, embassies, and specialized agents to influence faction relations through negotiation, espionage, and interference. Additionally, the update enhances gameplay with improved universe navigation, new building modules, performance boosts via NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, and expanded accessibility options like Brazilian Portuguese voice-over.

X4: Foundations is a vast and ambitious space simulation game that offers players a dynamic galaxy filled with thousands of ships and stations from various factions. Developed by Egosoft, the game provides extensive freedom for players to explore, trade, mine, engage in dogfights, build and manage stations, produce goods, and even board or steal from enemy ships. Over time, the developers have continually expanded the game with new factions, storylines, and features such as terraforming, salvaging, improved visuals, and a revamped flight model, all influenced by community feedback.

The latest update, titled the Diplomacy Update (version 8.00), introduces a comprehensive new system centered on political strategy and faction interaction. A revamped faction relations menu is now paired with a dedicated diplomacy interface, serving as the player’s main hub for tracking alliances, rivalries, and accessing various diplomatic tools. Central to this update is the addition of the embassy, a new room within the player’s headquarters where diplomats from across the universe can be hosted to help exert influence over other factions.

Another significant feature introduced in this update is the concept of agents—specialized NPCs that players can hire to perform a range of diplomatic tasks. These agents can improve relations between factions, acquire valuable blueprints, scout enemy assets, and even declare war on behalf of the player. This new gameplay element adds depth to the diplomatic experience, allowing players to engage in negotiation, espionage, and interference to further their interests within the galaxy.

One of the most innovative additions is the diplomatic interference system, which allows players to influence inter-faction politics behind the scenes. Through this feature, players can trigger and steer diplomatic events, activate Protocol Null to cause recurring power shifts, and shape alliances, ceasefires, and wars. This dynamic system makes the universe feel more alive and responsive, enhancing the overall immersion and strategic complexity of the game.

Beyond diplomacy, the update also brings numerous other improvements, including a revised universe layout for easier navigation, new station connection modules for expanded building options, and support for NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation to boost performance on compatible hardware. The crafting interface and recipes have been enhanced, and Brazilian Portuguese voice-over support has been added to make the game more accessible to a wider audience. Egosoft encourages players to join the Public Beta, provide feedback, and back up their save files before testing the new features.
