Bethesda has confirmed that players will be able to explore the entirety of planets in the upcoming game Starfield. This news was clarified by Pete Hines, the head of publishing at Bethesda, who responded to a tweet confirming that players can land on any point on a planet and walk anywhere they want. This feature highlights the vast scale of Starfield and allows for immersive exploration.

More news about Starfield is set to be revealed at Gamescom, with a presentation scheduled for August 23rd. Todd Howard, the director of the game, shared some information about Starfield, mentioning that players will start as a miner who discovers an artifact giving them a glimpse into space-time. Players can then create their own character and embark on their adventure. The game will feature magical powers, which seem to be connected to touching the artifact.

Gamesradar, one of the selected media outlets for a private screening of Starfield, praised the improvements they saw in the game compared to a previous showcase. They mentioned enhanced facial animations, vibrant environments, and improved combat mechanics. They also noted that players will quickly enter space exploration and have the freedom to explore the space environment.

A new live-action trailer for Starfield was released, showcasing the combat and the sense of exploration in the game. The trailer features a character approaching and landing on a planet, evoking a strong desire for exploration. Additionally, 40 minutes of leaked gameplay footage made its way online, showcasing character creation, opening segments, and combat. However, the footage was quickly taken down by Bethesda.

The performance of Starfield on different platforms is still unknown, but Nvidia has already released graphics drivers for the game. The Xbox Game Pass is also coming to GeForce Now, although it was confirmed that Starfield will not be available on the service. Overall, the latest information from Gamescom has generated excitement for the immersive planetary exploration and improvements in Starfield.
