Star Citizen Ships Currently In Production - CIG Address Insurance Drama

In the latest Star Citizen patch 3.19.1, Cloud Imperium Games have lowered ship Insurance timers and expedite costs across the whole ship lineup. These changes were made in response to player feedback and are aimed at making the game more enjoyable to play in its current alpha stage.

The patch also made improvements in other areas such as performance, mining, inventory loading, bugfixes, and AI behaviour. Additionally, Cloud Imperium Games have listed several ships and vehicles in active production, such as the Halsey cargo hauler, Spirit series, Storm light tank, Santoki Xi’an fighter, Apollo medical ship, X1 luxury Origin Bike, and G12 rover. They are also investigating pre-production on the Polaris Corvette, and may be working on variants of existing ships and the Retaliator Gold Standard.

Cloud Imperium Games have made it clear that they want to maintain a great variety of ships, but also that they are looking to the real world car and plane companies for inspiration. Ideas in active development, such as ship scale tractor beams, modular ship parts, and customisable weapons and pods, may appear in the near future. They are also interested in having a dynamic economy, waiting times, and death of a spaceman mechanic, however this will be worked on more in the beta phase of the game while they focus on providing an enjoyable experience for players in the alpha stage.
