Star Citizen Says Goodbye To It’s Oldest Space Station

Star Citizen is bidding farewell to its oldest space station, Port Olisar, which was added in 2015. The station was a quick and basic landing pad-only station that lacked facilities like medical centers and hangars. In its place, a new station called Seraphim Station, internally known as Port Olisar 2.0, will be introduced in the upcoming 3.20 update. This new station will be much larger, more extravagant, and feature a range of amenities including shops, cargo areas, medical facilities, and docking areas. It will also be prepared for future bounty hunting gameplay.

Port Olisar holds sentimental value for many players, as it was the first station they encountered in the game and marked a significant moment in their Star Citizen experience. However, its removal is necessary due to its outdated design and limited functionality compared to other stations in the game. The decision to replace it was also driven by the need to accommodate cargo-related gameplay, which requires space station docking rather than landing pads or hangars. Although players may feel nostalgic about Port Olisar, the new Seraphim Station promises an enhanced gameplay experience and a more visually stunning environment.

The Inside Star Citizen show will be taking a three-week break, indicating that there won’t be any major patches until the end of Q3, when the 3.20 update is expected. In the meantime, players can look forward to the 3.19.1 update, which is in a good state and will bring significant improvements and new content.
