Star Citizen - Salvage and Hull Munching Tutorial (Reclaimer, Vulture)

"Hello Citizens!
In today’s video I will go over the current iteration of salvage with the Vulture and Reclaimer. Enjoy!

Vulture: 01:18 - 04:14
Reclaimer: 04:15 - 07:30"

In the video tutorial, the updated Salvage mechanics and Hull munching in Star Citizen are introduced with a focus on using the Vulture and Reclaimer ships for salvaging. The changes to salvage include the ability to break down and salvage entire ships, increased dispenser capacity for salvaging more materials, and the ability for the Reclaimer to produce multiple sizes of salvage crates. The Vulture is equipped with salvage heads that can be used to scrape the hull, fracture the ship, and disintegrate chunks for extraction. The process involves using different modules and beams to extract materials efficiently.

The Vulture’s salvage mode UI displays the active salvage heads and modules, allowing players to switch focus between them for independent operation. Scraping the hull is done by adjusting the salvage beams to extract materials, while fracturing the ship involves activating the fracture field to break the ship into multiple pieces. The disintegration mode extracts chunks from the ship, with the player needing to manage the storage capacity to avoid material wastage. The salvaged materials can be ejected into containers for storage or sale.

The Reclaimer, known as the “king of salvage,” has also undergone changes in the latest update, with increased dispenser storage capacity, the conversion of the big salvage arm into a fracture and disintegration field generator, and the ability to produce larger salvage boxes. Operating the Reclaimer requires multiple crew members, with different stations for salvage beam operation, claw operation, and cargo handling. The salvage beam operator seats on the bridge function as remote turrets for scraping the ship’s hull.

The claw operator station on the Reclaimer allows players to switch between fracture and disintegration modes for breaking down and extracting materials from salvaged ships. The cargo handling process involves selecting materials to eject, choosing the container size, and using a tractor beam to move the salvage boxes. The lower deck of the Salvage processing deck can be used for storage of salvage components, and the elevator can transport boxes for loading onto a cargo ship for selling. Overall, the tutorial provides a comprehensive guide on salvaging with the Vulture and Reclaimer ships in Star Citizen, offering detailed instructions on the mechanics and operations involved in the process.
