Star Citizen has introduced the Kruger S-65 Stingray, a new medium fighter that leans heavily into Kruger’s vintage-inspired design language while adding a more combat-focused silhouette and transformation system.
According to the revealed details, the Stingray is a single-seat fighter built around agility and handling. Its standout feature is a three-state flight configuration: landed, standard flight, and a retracted combat mode that tightens the ship’s profile and reduces its cross-section in battle. The landed form emphasizes the ship’s distinctive wing arrangement, while the combat configuration pulls the wings inward to make the fighter a smaller target.
The ship’s styling draws from a mix of vintage automobiles, World War II aircraft prototypes, and modern industrial design. That aesthetic extends to the cockpit, which features side-mounted controls and a glass canopy designed to improve visibility. Because the Stingray is relatively large for a single-seater, the ship also comes with custom animations and interaction sequences, including a longer ladder and cockpit traversal.
Weapon customization is another major selling point. The Stingray is described as using interchangeable Kruger weapons, including two size-four forward weapons and four size-two wing-mounted repeaters, with compatibility across other Kruger ships such as the Wolf, Alpha Wolf, and Merlin.
