In the Star Citizen October Monthly Report, Cloud Imperium provided updates on their progress in the persistent universe. The Vehicles team completed work on a new vehicle variant and is currently polishing it, while also working on another new vehicle. The Ayo power Santokyoi is almost content complete, with cockpit animations and interior damage pass almost done. The team also made progress on remote tractor beam gameplay and structural Salvage.

The Mission features team focused on modulating the new player experience, with the tutorial mission for New Babbage being worked on. Various mission content, including Crusader platform missions and Blockade Runner, passed reviews and have been activated. Design pitches were made for long-term reputation goals and ship trespass mechanics are approaching a release-ready state. The UI team provided support for missions and Blockade Runner screens and made progress on the reputation app.

The economy team added shops at jump point stations for additional trade routes and rebalanced commodity trading in Stanton and Pyro systems to improve the gameplay experience for haulers and traders. They also supported other teams with pricing for new player equipment and completed a tool for extracting live game data to assist with balancing the economy.

The character and weapon team worked on improving prone animations and stabilizing player character’s wrists in first person view. Character art progressed with outfits and explored ideas for fauna and medical backpacks. The animation team ensured that all male animations are available for female characters and created initial animations for a new creature.

The core engine physics and entity teams focused on release support, optimizing code, and fixing memory leaks. The graphics team made progress on features such as water simulation, renderer systems, global illumination, and several longer-term features. The AI features team worked on retargeting male to female animations and developing features for swarms of creatures.

Overall, the teams at Cloud Imperium have been working on a range of improvements and new features for the persistent universe, with several exciting updates planned for CitizenCon and beyond.
