A pair of first-look videos on Star Citizen’s new Krueger Stingray are drawing attention for their largely positive impressions of the ship’s design and handling, even as technical issues in the game limit how thoroughly it can be tested.
In one impressions video, creator Subliminal describes the Stingray 404 edition as a sleek medium fighter with fast acceleration, strong maneuverability, and a loadout built around bespoke weapons. The ship’s landing gear, aerodynamic shape and active air flaps are highlighted as standout features, with the presenter suggesting that its carbon-fiber construction may contribute to its speed.
The video also notes that the Stingray carries six weapons, including size-two and size-four bespoke repeaters, along with missiles and cannons. Some of the ship’s weapons can reportedly be swapped with parts from other Krueger ships, such as the Wolf, giving the fighter a degree of flexibility. The host also points to the Stingray’s atmospheric flight mode, though they say current game limitations make it difficult to judge its full effect.
Despite the positive early take, the hands-on demonstration appears to have been hampered by server problems and broken in-game systems. That prevented more complete testing of weapon behavior, missile loadouts, flight modes, and PvP performance. The presenter says the Stingray looks promising as a fast, agile dogfighter, but adds that its fragility and shield weaknesses could be a concern.
A second first-look video also focuses on the ship’s agility and combat potential, with the presenter again emphasizing the Stingray’s sleek design and bespoke weaponry. Across the coverage, the consensus is that the Krueger Stingray seems built for speed and dogfighting rather than heavier, multi-role combat.
