Star Citizen Alpha 4.6 CHAOS! Inventory Wipes, Updates & 4.7 Patch Teasers

The Star Citizen Alpha 4.6 patch introduces the limited-time “Clearing the Air” event, new ships like the RSI Hermes, gameplay improvements, and fixes for inventory issues, while teasing upcoming content for Alpha 4.7 including new missions, ships, and locations. The developers continue to engage the community with monthly giveaways, regular content updates, and encourage player feedback to enhance the game experience.

The latest Star Citizen Alpha 4.6 patch, known as Lifeline Fivki, has gone live as part of the game’s new two-month patch cycle, with the next update, Alpha 4.7, scheduled for March. A major highlight of 4.6 is the limited-time in-game event “Clearing the Air,” which runs until March 17th. This event revolves around combating the Molina mold outbreak in Levski, offering players various missions in combat, harvesting, and cargo roles to earn contribution points and unlock rewards such as new clothing, armor, vehicle tints, and credits. The patch also includes numerous mission updates, new light amplification night vision (LAMPS) for ships, and supply kiosks at landing zones for faster resupply.

Several improvements and updates accompany the patch, including an FPS weapons update and a buff to ground vehicle missiles, enhancing their damage and effectiveness. Salvage gameplay has also been enhanced with more scannable debris and interesting finds around points of interest, making exploration more rewarding. The RSI Aurora Mark 1 ship received a significant upgrade, bringing it up to date with modern features, while the new RSI Hermes freighter became available for purchase, designed as a faster, better-armed blockade runner with a large cargo capacity of 288 SCU and a tractor beam.

Despite the patch’s launch, some players experienced issues with missing inventories, a recurring problem from previous updates. Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) prioritized fixing this, rolling out hotfixes to restore lost inventories and addressing a bug where PvP ships were not exploding when damaged critically. Players are encouraged to report any game-breaking problems they encounter. Additionally, a teaser for the upcoming Argo Salvager ship was revealed, sparking interest in a smaller, more manageable salvage ship alternative to the larger Reclaimer.

Looking ahead to Alpha 4.7, the roadmap includes expanded missions, new ships and gear from Wicowo, additional service stations around the Nyx system, and the introduction of the Keega asteroid belt. New combat armors and the addition of QV breaker stations, possibly related to the rock breaker sandbox activity, are also planned. The developers are committed to delivering weekly Star Citizen content videos and have outlined upcoming events such as the Red Festival, economy shocks, new ship releases, and free-fly periods to keep players engaged between major patches.

Finally, the video highlights ongoing community engagement through monthly ship giveaways, with January’s prize being three Crusader Intrepids and February’s giveaway featuring the new RSI Hermes.
