The Star Citizen newsletter dated the 19th of April announced the return of Citizen Con in Manchester, UK on the 19th and 20th of October. Premium tickets are sold out, but general access tickets are still available. The Overdrive initiative is currently live on the servers, leading up to the Xeno Threat final assault after Alpha 3.23 goes live. Players must complete all five phases before the assault to receive bonuses like upgrading a Hornet f7c to an f7a Mark I.

Alpha 3.23 is now open to wave two testers in the PTU, with updates like new creatures and improvements in the works. Cargo and hanger updates are expected to be released in 3.23, including item banks, personal and instan hangers, freight elevators, and cargo hauling missions. The release was delayed to ensure stability, with some parts coming in a later patch. Players will receive warnings if unwanted individuals enter their personal hangers, and party members will have full access. The size of the personal hanger will be based on the largest ship in the player’s fleet.

Players will not be able to change the location of their personal hanger initially, but future updates may allow for multiple customizable hangers in different locations. There is no occupancy limit in personal hangers, and players can decorate them with purchased furniture. Manual loading and unloading will be required at small outposts, while larger locations will offer automatic loading and unloading for high-volume trading. Cargo mass affecting ship performance is planned for the future, and cargo mission boxes cannot be sold elsewhere without penalties.

Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the new features, including the ability to attach items to the cargo grid and call multiple vehicles or ships at the same time. The update also includes improvements in Quantum markers, star map interactions, and VFX for volumetric clouds. The release of Alpha 3.23 has been met with anticipation, despite the delay in cargo and hanger updates. The community is looking forward to experiencing the new gameplay elements and features once they are fully implemented.
