Star Citizen 4.7 Features Revealed!

The Star Citizen Alpha 4.7 update, releasing at the end of March, introduces new short hairstyles, upgraded RSI Apollo ships, light and heavy combat armor with stat-based trade-offs, and the addition of People’s Service Stations in the Nyx system for easier travel and mission support. It also features Nyx Mission Pack 2 with returning courier missions, the reactivation of QV Breaker Stations for resource harvesting and combat encounters, enhancing gameplay variety and hinting at future crafting possibilities.

In this video, Ryan (aka Mac) discusses the upcoming features of Star Citizen Alpha 4.7, set to release at the end of March. He begins by thanking his patrons and channel members for their support and briefly mentions exciting new features in the Beam Eye Tracker’s upcoming beta patch 2.5.3. While focusing mainly on Star Citizen 4.7, he notes that 4.6 has just launched but faced several issues, which he plans to address in a separate video.

The 4.7 update will introduce six new short hairstyles, adding to the growing customization options for players, enhancing character diversity. Additionally, the RSI Apollo ship will be available with upgraded components and liveries. Players can also expect new light and heavy combat armor sets, though details and images are not yet available. These armor sets will likely tie into the upcoming starware system, which will add stats and trade-offs to armor, improving gameplay depth and allowing quick outfit swaps through armor lockers in hangars, homes, and ships.

One of the significant additions in 4.7 is the introduction of People’s Service Stations in the Nyx system, managed by the People’s Alliance. These stations will serve as safe havens similar to RNR stations, providing restocking, refueling, and quantum travel points throughout Nyx. This expansion will facilitate easier travel and mission completion within the system, including access to asteroid belts like the Keega Belt and Glaciium Ring.

The update will also bring Nyx Mission Pack 2, adding a new set of missions, including the return of courier and delivery missions that were removed in previous updates. Although specific mission details are scarce, there is hope for more unique and deeper mission types, such as investigation missions, which have been hinted at in the past but not yet realized.

Finally, Ryan highlights the QV Breaker Stations located in the Keega Belt, which were once industrial asteroid-cracking facilities now abandoned. Players will need to power them back online to harvest valuable resources, attracting attention and potentially leading to combat scenarios with gangs occupying some stations. These locations are expected to support varied gameplay styles, including exploration, mining, and combat, and may offer exclusivity options for organizations willing to pay for private access. Ryan expresses excitement for these features and hopes crafting will be introduced soon, potentially linked to resources found at these stations.
