Skunk Works - Honing PVP CQB - ORG Combat Training - Star Citizen 3.16 gameplay

A training event organized by Skunk Works focused on honing one versus one close-quarters combat skills in Star Citizen 3.16 gameplay. Participants engaged in drills, emphasizing burst firing, tracking moving targets, and shifting their mentality to prioritize headshots and quick neutralization in CQB engagements.

The Skunk Works organization, along with other participants, conducted a training event focused on improving one versus one close-quarters combat (CQB) engagements in Star Citizen. Led by Task Force Bravo Commander Durgan, the event aimed to build experience, identify bad habits, and highlight effective weapon choices. CQB is an area that some participants, including the narrator, found challenging due to the need for fluidity and quick decision-making at close range.

The first objective of the training was to understand weapon behavior, particularly in CQB scenarios. Unlike many other games, Star Citizen’s spray patterns seem to follow a more randomized pattern. Burst firing is crucial to control spread, and a simple drill of stepping left and right while taking shots helps develop the instinct to make minor aim adjustments. This drill also aids in tracking moving targets.

The second objective was to shift participants’ mentality from spraying down targets to focusing on headshots and quicker neutralization. Misdirection, speed, and aggression were emphasized to gain an advantage in 1v1 CQB engagements. The training progressed with participants engaging in one versus one fights using party markers for identification.

Throughout the training, winners rotated to the back of the line while losers moved to the front. This rotation prioritized combat experience for those who needed it most. Participants faced challenges such as target tracking fast-moving opponents and avoiding spraying bullets. Desync issues also affected gameplay but did not dampen the commitment to progress.

As the training event continued, the narrator, recognizing their shortcomings, experimented with different weapons that aligned better with their playstyle. While still facing difficulty with mobile targets, valuable lessons were learned throughout the training, highlighting areas for improvement in CQB engagements. The narrator expressed gratitude for the skilled raccoons on their team and looked forward to facing opponents and learning from them. The narrator also extended thanks to supporters and patrons of the Skunk Works organization, making these videos possible, and provided a referral code for those interested in joining Star Citizen.
