Polaris, BMM, Idris, Javelin, Galaxy, Perseus, Glaive, Blade & Scythe | Star Citizen Ships Updates

In the latest Star Citizen ship updates, progress is being made on various ships, including the RSI Polaris, Galaxy, and Banu Merchantman. The Squadron 42 ships, Idris and Javelin, are also being worked on, with the release of Squadron 42 expected to be closer as the polishing and optimization phase progresses.

In the latest updates on Star Citizen ships, Ryan, also known as Mac, discusses the progress of various ships, starting with the RSI Polaris. The ship is currently in graybox stage and the development team aims to streamline the RSI ships on the backlog. The RSI Polaris is expected to be completed in the next 12 months. Following the Polaris, the RSI Galaxy will be worked on, with the intention of offering base-building opportunities through a new module. Base building is scheduled to go into full production in the first quarter of next year.

The Banu Merchantman is a ship that is nearly complete, with most of it in the graybox stage. However, due to shifting resources to focus on RSI ships, the Banu Merchantman is currently on hold. The team wants to ensure they do justice to the ship, which has a completely new style. The development team has recently hired and trained more developers for the ship teams, which may lead to the Banu Merchantman being picked up more quickly.

Moving on to Squadron 42 ships, the Idris is planned to be released alongside Squadron 42’s release. This includes all variants of the Idris: Idris-M, Idris-P, and Idris-K. The Javelin, another Squadron 42 ship, will be worked on after the release of Squadron 42, as there is still more work to be done, particularly regarding modularity. For players who own ships like the Scythe, Blade, and Glaive, updated models will be provided after the release of Squadron 42.

The release date for Squadron 42 is unknown, but the development team reports that they are currently in the polishing and optimization phase. The fact that they are providing updates on the Squadron 42 ships suggests that the single-player campaign is getting closer to release. Ryan concludes by mentioning that more ship developers have been hired, and he hopes that the rate of releasing ships from the backlog will increase as the team expands. He also hints at an upcoming video where he will discuss 10 newly revealed ships coming within the next 12 months.
