Player Homes & Hangars, Starmap Markers & Realistic Flight | Finished In May | Star Citizen Progress

In the month of May, several exciting features and updates were completed for Star Citizen. One significant improvement was the AR and map marker system rework for the star map. This new feature will allow players to place navigational waypoints on planets and view them on their HUD through augmented reality. The work on this system took 49 weeks and it is anticipated that the new star map will be implemented into the game soon.

Another notable update was the aerodynamic control surfaces, which will bring realistic atmospheric flight to each ship. This means that flight will become a full simulation, with different ships behaving differently based on their aerodynamics and each planet’s unique atmosphere. This feature had 39 weeks of work and is expected to be rolled out in version 3.20 of the game.

Other features that were completed include derelict spaceships points of interest, persistent hubs and hangars, seated item handling, and two unannounced vehicles. In addition, several features for Squadron 42, the single-player campaign of Star Citizen, were also finished, such as chapter nine, character creator, enemy characters, military multi-tool, and mop and bucket. Overall, May was a big month for progress in Star Citizen, with a lot of exciting updates coming to the game.
