In this edition of Witchspace News for June 27th, 2025, CMDR Buur shares exciting updates from the Elite Dangerous community. The Buckyball Racing Club has announced its biggest event yet, the 3311 Drakhyr Rally, a 250km cross-country race on Planet 4B in the Hyades Sector system. Scheduled for August 10th, the race welcomes all players, solo or in teams, using either the Scarab or Scorpion SRV. Details and registration information are available on the official Elite Dangerous forums and the Buckyball Discord server.

The next Elite Dangerous community meetup, known as the Lovely Meet Up 2025, is set for July 5th at the Whitehorse Pub near Bristol, UK. Organized by streamer and Lave Radio co-host CMDR Psykit, the event starts at 1 pm and does not require tickets or bookings. Attendees are encouraged to join Psykit’s Discord server to help organizers estimate attendance. Links to the Discord and meetup website, including photos from last year, are provided for those interested in joining the fun.

Frontier Developments has revealed more details about the highly anticipated Panther Clipper, set to enter early access on July 22nd. This ship, a modern take on the classic bulk cargo hauler from Frontier: Elite 2, features unique storage-specific optional module slots that only accept fuel tanks or cargo racks, including new optimized cargo racks with 50% more storage capacity. The Panther Clipper mk2 can carry up to 1,238 tons of cargo when fully optimized, making it the largest cargo hauler in the game.

Further analysis of the Panther Clipper reveals it has 10 hardpoints, with eight clearly visible in the reveal footage—six on the dorsal side and two underneath near the SRV and SLF bays. The locations of the remaining two hardpoints remain unidentified, with some speculation but no confirmation. Additionally, the ship appears to have six utility slots, as seen in the HUD during the livestream, which should be adequate for most operational needs.

CMDR Buur wraps up by inviting viewers to share their plans for the Drakhyr Rally and the Lovely Meet Up, and to speculate on the Panther Clipper’s missing hardpoints in the comments. The video encourages subscriptions and support through Patreon, promising more Elite Dangerous content soon. The community is reminded to stay safe and enjoy their adventures in the galaxy until the next update.
