Medical Gameplay Tutorial - Star Citizen

"Medical Gameplay Tutorial - Star Citizen

All things medical explained. How to use the Curelife ParaMed Med gun, med beds, medical supplies, & everything else needed to heal & revive your fellow Citizens."

In this video tutorial for Star Citizen’s medical gameplay, the narrator explains the basics of being a medic in the game. They start by recommending players to equip themselves with a Cure-Life med gun or a Lifeguard medical attachment for their multi-tool, along with some green gel refills. They caution against using the Lifeguard attachment as it has limited functionality. The med guns have a tendency to fall to the ground in the inventory screen or when seated, which hopefully will be fixed before the game goes live.

The tutorial then explains how to use the med gun or lifeguard attachment to heal injured players. By pointing the device at different body parts, players can assess the severity of the injury; green means no injury, blue, purple, or pink indicate the need for medical attention. Pulling the trigger on the device heals the player, while the descriptions on the left indicate further treatment required and drugs that can treat specific symptoms. The tutorial advises players to switch to the Cure-Life med gun’s advanced mode in order to administer medication and adjust dosages.

The video goes on to explain that the Lifeguard attachment, despite taking up less inventory space, is not necessary to bring along as it only allows players to administer the same medication found in the red med pen. Overdosing on medication can have comical effects. Refilling the med gun with green gel can be done by placing the camera over it and using the right-click. In case of major trauma, players need to transport their injured teammates to major landing zone hospitals like New Babbage or Orison, using hangars and elevators to reach the hospital rooms.

The tutorial also covers how players can heal themselves by using the med gun, and the functionality of hospital beds within clinics or hospitals. The beds automatically heal minor injuries, reduce blood drug levels, and can even hydrate players. For specific injuries, players can access a breakdown of required treatment in the interface, with an option to automatically dispense medication or manually do so.

Finally, the tutorial briefly mentions the use of med pins as an alternative to the med gun, explaining their purpose as a means to quickly heal teammates or oneself in critical situations. The video concludes by thanking the executive producers of the tutorial and encouraging players to go out and save lives in the game.
