Live EVA and PIE Q&A in 4min 11sec

During a live Q&A session, the Star Citizen Eva and Pi team addressed various questions and topics. They discussed limitations on maintaining momentum when jumping from a moving ship, plans for disabling the Pi overlay for Machinima purposes, future refueling mechanics for Eva, and other upcoming features and improvements.

On February 16th, 2024, there was a one-hour Star Citizen live Q&A session with the Eva and Pi team. The panel confirmed that the show would cover information previously heard on Inside Star Citizen three weeks ago. They also took questions from a Spectrum post.

One question asked if players could maintain momentum when jumping from a moving ship at high speeds. The answer was no, as there is a maximum velocity limit for the Thruster pack. Allowing players to bypass this limit would create gameplay issues.

Another question was about disabling the Pi overlay for Machinima purposes. The answer was no for version 3.23, but they plan to add the option to hide various parts of the HUD in the future.

Eva will eventually require refueling, but this is not part of version 3.23. They are considering using a pen injection mechanic to refuel the system. Mass and load do not currently affect Eva physics, but this may change in the future. Different Thruster packs with varying speed and fuel options are planned.

Other details mentioned include the ability to carry a box within Eva, the removal of the ability to stand in Eva (though they are open to feedback on this), and the future addition of a push-pull system. The top speed for Eva is 10 m/s, even when using ship tractors. The Pi overlay does not significantly change ship flying, buggy driving, or turret operation, but improvements are being worked on.
