Important 4.10.3 PTU Updates: Salvage Ship Buffs, MK V Change, Vanguard Buff, Liberator Size Change

The Star Citizen Alpha 4.10.3 PTU patch introduces major buffs to salvage ships, significant weapon and armor upgrades for various ships including the Constellation Mark 5 and Vanguard series, as well as size and functionality enhancements to the Liberator. Additionally, ground vehicles received renaming and survivability improvements, missile mechanics were adjusted for strategic use, and several new ships were added for sale, all paving the way for enhanced gameplay and new content ahead of the IAE event.

The Star Citizen Alpha 4.10.3 PTU patch, released on November 3rd, 2026, brings significant updates, notably major buffs to salvage ships. The Reclaimer’s salvage buffer storage has nearly doubled from 240 to 448 SCU, while the Argo Moth’s buffer increased drastically by 275%, from 64 to 240 SCU, though this seems disproportionate given the ship’s size. Other salvage ships like the Drake Vulture, Misfortune, and Salvation also received moderate buffer increases. Additionally, the salvage fields for all these ships have been expanded, improving their efficiency and ease of use during salvage operations. These changes promise to enhance the gameplay experience for players focusing on salvaging.

The Constellation Mark 5 Centaurus has undergone notable adjustments. Its armor health increased from 25,740 to 30,740, but the physical and energy damage deflection thresholds were lowered, making it slightly more vulnerable to certain weapons. Despite this, the ship remains strong, especially against size four laser repeaters, which cannot penetrate its armor. Fuel consumption has been optimized with a reduced burn rate, alleviating previous issues with hydrogen fuel usage. However, the weapon capacitor charge rate has slowed, potentially affecting combat performance, and will require further observation.

Vanguard ships received significant weaponry upgrades, with turret sizes increased from size two to size three across the board. The Vanguard Harbinger’s Jericho missile pods also saw an upgrade to size three, although there were some inconsistencies with missile pod locking in the PTU. Meanwhile, missile loadouts for the Paladin and RSI Meteor were adjusted, removing default size four missiles and requiring players to manually purchase and equip them. The Polaris also received a buff with increased armor deflection thresholds for both physical and energy damage, enhancing its durability.

Ground vehicles were renamed in preparation for the upcoming IAE event, with Anvil models rebranded as HM6 variants. The Graycat PTV now has armor health for the first time, adding survivability. Additionally, several rewarded components from the RII Discovery Month event had their distortion damage values corrected, making them usable without the risk of instant distortion damage to shields. Size five missiles now have a safety distance of 700 meters, preventing players from dumb-firing torpedoes at close range and requiring more strategic missile deployment.

Finally, the Liberator ship received a size increase, growing in length, width, and height by several meters. It now features two new point defense cannons (PDCs) and larger thrusters to support its role as a light carrier for ships and vehicles. The updated design includes visible stairs and a cockpit, suggesting enhanced functionality and usability. Additionally, several new ships are available for sale in the PTU, including the Lurville TBR, Lavski Ironclad, and Pitbull, indicating potential upcoming additions to the live game. Overall, the patch sets the stage for exciting gameplay improvements and new content ahead of the IAE event.
