In this Elite Dangerous [VR] video, the players participate in the Thargoid War and join the battle over Asterope. In this video, the players continue their participation in the Thargoid War in Elite Dangerous. They move on to the Asterope system, which is a major battleground in the war. Asterope is under siege by the Thargoids, and the players join forces with other commanders stationed at the Copernicus Observatory to defend it. They are eager to gain combat experience and achieve their first kill of a Thargoid Interceptor.
The players engage in intense battles with the Thargoid Interceptors, relying on offensive aggression to fight them. They quickly learn the vulnerabilities of the Interceptor and manage to destroy one with the help of another commander piloting a Federal Corvette. However, they also realize that engaging with the Interceptors leads to significant damage to their ship and a challenge with the breaking glass canopy that affects their aim.
They make adjustments to their ship loadouts, focusing on improving defense and survivability. They also learn about the Waterfield Maintenance System (FMS), which allows them to repair the canopy, avoiding the loss of their aiming reticule. As their experience and knowledge grow, they become more proficient in taking down Thargoid Interceptors around Copernicus Observatory.
With their newfound skills and confidence, the players decide to take the fight to other areas around the Pleiades nebula. They aim to support other systems in need of help against the Thargoids, where fewer commanders are currently fighting. Their goal is to contribute to the defense of humanity and make a difference in the ongoing Thargoid War.
In the next video, the players will continue their efforts in new systems and face new challenges as they fight against the Thargoids and strive to protect human-controlled space.
