A lost planet that was discovered seven years ago by Commander Kelly Eldridge has been found again through a player-run expedition called the Eldritch Gate. The expedition involved over 250 participants searching for the planet using limited information. Commander Orange eventually found the planet through a combination of deduction and pattern recognition, showcasing the community’s exploration spirit.

Following the release of Update 13, life in Elite Dangerous has started to return to normal, but players are waiting for clarification on instancing. There are concerns about how instancing will work with the upcoming release of the 4.0 code base into Horizons on PC, which will result in multiple instances of the game across different platforms. Frontier has mentioned that instancing is subject to re-evaluation, but for now, players are split across different versions.

Professor Palin and Ram Tar are offering a fee for access to recently pickled Guardian relics, which were corrupted when placed in Thyroid surface installations. An alliance defense force community goal is also active, where players can deliver goods to outfit century mega-ships with advanced AX weapons. The superpower political landscape remains unchanged after the Proteus wave and the genocidal rantings of Salvation.

There have been changes in the Frontier community management team, with Arthur Tolmi being promoted to principal community lead, Sally Morgan Moore becoming a lead community manager, and Bruce Garrido also in the same role. Despite the promotions, Arthur assured that he won’t be leaving Elite Dangerous and is excited to continue pushing forwards. The recent positive momentum and communication surrounding the game are promising, especially after the smooth launch of Update 13.

Looking to the future, there are plans for the account copy process to facilitate console accounts being copied to the PC version in September. The launch of the 4.0 code base into Horizons on PC is expected in the coming weeks, and Update 14 is scheduled for November, delivering the next major narrative phase for Elite Dangerous. With recent changes, such as the new CEO and community management team, the game may be heading towards a fresh direction.
