Drake Cutter Rambler | First Look

In this video, YouTuber Subliminal provides a first look at the Drake Cutter Rambler, an exploration variant of the Drake Cutter ship in Star Citizen. Subliminal examines the ship’s loadout, interior features, performance, and concludes that there is little reason to upgrade to the Drake Cutter Rambler unless it is for an LTI token.

In this video, the YouTuber Subliminal provides a first look at the Drake Cutter Rambler, an exploration variant of the Drake Cutter ship in Star Citizen. He begins by examining the ship’s loadout and component sizes, including its blast chill cooler, power plant, and shield generator, which are all civilian grade and would likely need to be upgraded. The Drake Cutter Rambler features two size 2 hardpoints with gimbals and size 1 weapons, as well as missile racks that can hold either two size 2 missiles or four size 1 missiles.

Next, Subliminal takes a detailed look at the interior of the Drake Cutter Rambler, noting similarities to other Drake ships such as the crew deck and bridge. He highlights some features like weapon racks, a suit locker, living quarters, and beds. However, he mentions that he couldn’t find the storage under the bed that he thought was there before, and also discovers a drop seat with two additional seats in an area that could be used for many purposes.

Moving on to the performance of the ship, Subliminal examines its SCM and top speeds, acceleration, weapon capabilities, and the size of its capacitor charge. He also notes some bugs related to extra noise and decoy on the screen. The Drake Cutter Rambler’s fuel capacity is found to be 2,000 Quantum fuel units, which is four times more than what most fighter ships have, and its weapon load is 99 shots, providing good capacitance for a starter ship.

Finally, Subliminal attempts to fit an Origin X1 bike and a Drake mule into the Drake Cutter Rambler, but encounters difficulties due to limited space. He concludes by expressing his opinion that there is no real reason to upgrade to the Drake Cutter Rambler over the base cutter, as the differences are minimal and the ship lacks a specific gameplay loop. He suggests that players should consider saving their money or investing in a different ship altogether. However, he mentions that buying the Drake Cutter Rambler for an LTI (Lifetime Insurance) token could be a valid reason for purchase.
