Dangerous Vulture Salvage | Star Citizen 3.22 4K Gameplay

“This video showcases Star Citizen salvage gameplay using the Drake Vulture, jumping into combat in the process. The video is set against some gameplay footage from Star Citizen patch 3.22”

Star Citizen patch 3.22 introduces additional steps and variety to the Salvage gameplay loop, including more risk and danger for higher rewards. In this gameplay video, the player takes on a salvage contract in the Vulture ship, which involves fighting over the carcass of a Cutlass. The video is sped up at certain parts to keep the overall length down.

The player starts by spawning in the Vulture at the ship spawn terminal and heads to Hangar 3 to pick up the ship. They already have three crates of construction materials from a previous outing, which they hope to sell for extra cash. After starting up the ship and opening the hangar doors, they choose a salvage contract that requires them to salvage a Cutlass at Mike L1 for a reward of 20,000 Alpha UEC.

The player travels to the salvage target at Mike L1 using quantum travel, using scanning pings to detect any obstacles along the way. Upon arrival, they scan the cargo aboard the Cutlass and find two SCU of gold, which they consider valuable. They then begin the salvage process using the Vulture’s dual cinch loadout, slowly breaking apart the Cutlass hull. However, they encounter a Drake Buccaneer that tries to interfere, leading to a combat situation.

Despite the Vulture not being optimized for combat, the player manages to defend themselves using the ship’s two Bulldogs. They continue salvaging the wreckage while defending against additional waves of attackers. The new salvage mechanics introduced in patch 3.22 involve fracturing the ship’s hull and then disintegrating the larger pieces. The player completes the salvage contract and collects the salvage materials, including construction materials, which have a larger internal buffer storage in this patch.

After completing the salvage, the player heads to Microtech to sell the salvage materials. They choose to sell the Recycled Material Composite (RMC) at Devil and Scrap and Salvage, a riskier location due to potential player activity. They then reorganize the cargo in the Vulture and head to Port Tressler to store the ship. Lastly, they attempt to sell the construction materials at an admin center, but find that there is currently no demand for them.

Overall, the gameplay video showcases the new salvage mechanics and the player’s experience in salvaging a Cutlass while dealing with combat threats. The Vulture proves to be a capable ship for salvaging and defending against attackers, and the addition of construction materials adds more variety to the salvage gameplay loop.
