00:00 - Talking Ship with John Crewe, Vehicl"

In this segment of CitizenCon 2953, John Crew and Curtis, the Vehicle Director and Vehicle Art Director at Cloud Imperium Games, discuss upcoming ships and provide a deeper look at the A1 Spirit and the RSI Zeus. They showcase the A1 Spirit trailer and discuss its features, such as the fully-featured habitation area, weapon lockers, and sleek exterior design. They also mention that Alpha 321 is now live, allowing players to explore and enjoy the A1 Spirit.

Moving on to the RSI Zeus, they discuss its history as the first ship with Quantum capability and its cult following. They announce that RSI has taken on the challenge of developing a new vehicle that pays homage to the original Zeus while exceeding current safety standards. They introduce the three variants of the Zeus: the ES (long-range exploration version), the Mark (bounty hunter version), and the CL (cargo version). They provide details on each variant’s features, including cargo capacity, shield generators, power plants, coolers, and weapons.

The speakers then discuss the growth of their vehicle art team and the challenges they faced with the development of the Banu Merchantman. They admit that the ship’s progress has slowed due to the loss of experienced team members but assure the audience that they are focused on growing their team and delivering a high-quality product. They also address the Squadron 42 vehicles, mentioning that the address will be released alongside the M, PE, and K kit as a single delivery, followed by the Javelin and Vandal side BL blade updates.

They conclude the presentation by sharing a video showcasing various ships, including some familiar ones and a massive ship at the end, which they confirm is the Polaris. They explain that they aim to deliver all the ships in the video within the next 12 months. Additionally, they discuss their approach to developing RSI ships as a family, allowing for efficient development and leveraging their experience and reusable kits. Finally, they provide a glimpse of the current state of the Polaris in its white box stage.
