Circumnavigating Hurston on Dragonflies - Part 1 - The Prep - Long Dragonfly Expedition

The first trip around the planet MicroTech on Dragonflies was a major undertaking in terms of time and distance. It provided an opportunity to experience unique and breathtaking sights. After much deliberation, the next expedition was finalized with an exploration of the feasibility of Houston as an option. In order to evaluate the terrain, a test run was conducted on the Hoverbike outside Louisville. The bike sustained damage when it bottomed out after jumps, which damaged the grav labs that lowered the hover high. Vast stretches of terrain were covered, ranging from cities to trashed forests.

Using salvage materials, it was possible to repair the bike, though it was noted that the bike would likely have to be changed every 200km as components such as grav labs and reaction thrusters can not be replaced. Testing the refueling feature was skipped due to time constraints, and a polar route was created to cover more of the biomes Houston has to offer.

A pop support crew was formed, with two other riders, support pilots, patrons, and two more pilots set to take part in the journey. The plan is to complete the route in a much shorter time than that of the MicroTech Expedition, with a continuous run as close to feasible. With the necessary preparations in place, the group is looking forward to the full circumnavigation and the unique tales it will bring.
