Anvil Hawk Review | Star Citizen 3.12 Gameplay

“In this video, I review the Star Citizen light fighter and bounty hunter, the Anvil Hawk, including a tour as well as detailed ship review. I include gameplay footage of the Hawk. The gameplay for this Star Citizen Anvil Hawk ship review is”

The Anvil Hawk is a ship in Star Citizen designed for disabling enemy ships and transporting captured targets for a hefty reward. However, some gameplay loops necessary for this role are still missing in the current patch. The ship review is divided into five sections: ship tour, combat performance, handling and visibility, operating costs, and final verdict. The ship has a prisoner storage module at the back, but it is not luxurious for the captives. The pilot enters through a chair that drops down into the cockpit.

In terms of combat performance, the Hawk is armed with two size one distortion cannons and four size two laser cannons. While the weapons are smaller in size, their sheer number compensates for it. The ship lacks missiles but instead has an offensive EMP generator, which is currently more of a gimmick than a practical combat weapon. However, overall, the ship holds its own in combat situations thanks to its shield generators and capabilities.

The Hawk offers reasonable visibility with a few struts in the cockpit, but it provides good visibility to the front, above, and to the sides. It also has a small cut-out for limited vision below, which is helpful for landing. The ship is fast both in combat maneuvering speeds and straight-line top speed. It accelerates and decelerates exceptionally well, making it suitable as an interceptor. Landing might require some practice due to the ship’s insistence on a perfectly level configuration, but it offers good control during landing.

Operating costs for the Hawk are minimal, with expenses for repair, refuel, and rearm being less than 100 alpha UEC per trip. Money-making options are primarily limited to combat contracts, such as bounty hunting or mercenary missions. While it lacks internal cargo storage, theoretically, it could transport prisoners. However, there is no gameplay for prisoner transport currently, making it less appealing. The verdict on the ship is that it excels as a light fighter and is relatively affordable at 1.3 million alpha UEC in-game. However, its specific features, such as the EMP and prisoner transport, are not well-implemented or lacking gameplay loops. It is suggested to buy the ship in-game unless players are confident in the future delivery of those gameplay aspects.
