3.22 Close To WAVE 1 - BIG Gameplay Changes, Rep Layer Test & NO MORE 30k's | Star Citizen Roadmap

The latest Star Citizen roadmap update reveals that Alpha 3.22 will bring new derelict settlements, FPS maps, and the ability for players to choose specific ship stations to spawn into. The game is also undergoing testing for stability, balance, and bug fixes, with plans for future updates including server meshing and replication layer split testing.

In the latest Star Citizen roadmap update, several features have passed their final review and are committed for release in Alpha 3.22. One of these features is the addition of new derelict settlements spread throughout the planets and moons of Stanton. These locations will provide missions and eventually support NPC populations. There will also be two new maps for FPS gameplay in Arena Commander, both located in the new settlements. The update also introduces the ability for players to choose specific ship stations to spawn into, allowing for easier teaming up and respawn options.

Alpha 3.22 has undergone testing by the Evocati, with a focus on structural salvage updates, stability testing, minable updates, and weapon recoil and combat balance. The mining system has been adjusted to align with the difficulty of prospecting, and there have been improvements to server reachability and crash recovery notifications. Bug fixes, such as AI falling through stairs and floors in underground facilities, have also been included in the update.

There was a second test of the replication layer split for the Evocati on the tech preview channel, with a duration of four hours. This test aimed to gather data on general stability and the crash recovery system, but no specific feedback has been shared yet. Cloud Imperium hopes to roll out this technology to the PTU or the live branch and expand testing to include server meshing on the tech preview channel by the end of the year.

With these updates, Star Citizen’s persistent universe is receiving major overhauls to important systems, quality of life improvements, and exciting new gameplay elements. Alpha 3.22 is shaping up to be an interesting patch, and the game is slowly becoming more polished and refined. The future looks bright for Star Citizen, with more additions and improvements on the horizon. The next stream by the content creator will be on December 11th, following a week off for Rachel’s birthday.
