The latest Star Citizen news highlights the release of the Centurus Mark 5 Constellation, a versatile multi-role ship that excels in cargo, combat, and more. This new model is larger and tankier than previous Mark V variants, featuring remote turrets and increased cargo space, with a sleek design reminiscent of a mini Polaris. Alongside it comes the Skyllock, a dedicated combat snub ship that exclusively docks with the Centurus. While some players see the Centurus as an improved Constellation, the classic Mark V remains supported and obtainable in-game, though it will no longer be available for purchase with real money after January 2027.

Currently, the RSI Discovery Month event is underway, offering players a variety of missions across defense, transport, and collection tracks, with permanent rewards such as ship paints, components, armor, and weapons. Players can also participate in a constellation rental mission to try out the new Centurus and Skyllock for five days. Additionally, the Star Citizen starter pack has been streamlined into a single $45 First Flight Pack, which includes the Aurora M2 starter ship, game access, and 30 days of access to other starter ships, providing newcomers with diverse gameplay options.

October’s store bundle, the Runic Bundle, features black and gold heavy armor with geometric etchings, along with weapons and a ship paint for the Origin M80. A sneak peek at upcoming Halloween-themed “Day of the Vara” armor hints at spooky, chaos-inspired gear set to launch soon, likely coinciding with the in-game Halloween event. These seasonal additions aim to enhance player customization and thematic immersion during the festive period.

One of the most significant updates is the Genesis planet tech preview for Nyx 1, set to arrive in Alpha 4.11 by the end of 2026. This update introduces diverse biomes, Staritect points of interest, and mission hubs, encouraging extended planetary exploration and gameplay. Notably, intraplanetary server meshing has been implemented, allowing multiple servers to manage different sectors of a planet, improving performance and scalability as the game moves toward full dynamic server meshing.

Finally, Squadron 42 is now available to wishlist on both the RSI website and Steam, with a planned release in Q2 2027. Early impressions from a recent event praised its polished gameplay, cinematic quality, and immersive world-building, positioning it as a potential game of the year contender. The video also promotes the Toby Eyetracker 5, a head and eye tracking device enhancing situational awareness and immersion in Star Citizen, alongside an ongoing giveaway for a Saber Raven EX ship package to engage the community further.
