Star Citizen Still On Track For RECORD Sales!

The Invictus event for Star Citizen has just ended and the sales totalled 18 million dollars. This is lower than last year’s 21 million dollar figure but there are a few explanations for this. Firstly, the top selling ship from last year was 200 War Bond’s Scorpius whereas this year it has been replaced with a cheaper ship—the Fury—priced at 55 War Bond’s. Despite this price drop, over 20,000 Fury’s still sold earning 1.3 million dollars on the day of release. Anvil, Tumbril and Drake all also had very good days with sales totalling 1.35, 1.1 and 1.4 million respectively.

However, the recent patch 3.18 was plagued with a lot of bugs which caused the game to be unplayable for some. This may have led to people getting refunds or simply turning away from the game after having a bad experience. Nevertheless, with one more day of the event coming up and Alien Week expected next month, sales are still on track to reach 2019’s figures.

Moreover, if the recent Miss Kharti ship is made available for purchase and the issues surrounding patch 3.18 are resolved then it is possible that the financial figures for Star Citizen could exceed 2019’s figures and into record-breaking territory. Regardless, it is clear that Star Citizen has managed to maintain its numbers in spite of the poor performance of patch 3.18 and the issues with server log-ins.
