Today is Erad’s birthday and he wanted to make a livestream with his viewers. He had originally wanted to play Star Citizen but after yesterday’s experience, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. The frames were terrible and he got an account login timeout. He then decided to talk about Jump Town which was back and Triple 19.1.
Invictus, the second biggest sale of the year, had 50 million dollars in 2021, but only 16 million so far in 2023. The game is not performing as well as it did last year, and players are encountering too many issues and frustration. Erad will not be doing a gameplay session today as was the plan.
The upcoming Citizen Con in October may bring in more sales and optimism if announcements like the development of new ships, and success with Squadron 42 are made. Rather than buying in May, many may wait and spend their money then on the big sale. Otherwise, Cloud Imperium Games need to do something to bring back the enthusiasm.
