Star Citizen 4.4 | What is Actually Coming Nyx Month & When?

Star Citizen Alpha 4.4, releasing in November around the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo, introduces the Nyx system with new jump points, factions, mining zones, and a major mission, setting the stage for future planetary development using Genesis technology. The patch also hints at interstellar hauling missions, enhanced gameplay features, new ships, and narrative expansions, promising significant content to expand the game’s universe into 2026.

Star Citizen Alpha 4.4 is set to release in November, likely before or around the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE) scheduled from November 20th to December 3rd. While exact dates remain uncertain, the patch promises significant new content focused primarily on the introduction of the Nyx system. However, players should not expect planets at launch; instead, the planets for Nyx will be developed throughout next year using the new Genesis planet technology. The initial system will include a gas giant (Nyx 3), a toxic planet (Nyx 2), and the hero planet (Nyx 1), with the latter expected to be especially impressive when fully realized.

The patch will introduce two new jump points connecting Stanton to Nyx and Pyro to Nyx, creating a triangular link between these systems to facilitate interstellar travel and hauling missions. These jump points are temporary and will be updated once the Castra system is added in the future. Upon arrival in Nyx, players will experience a dense blue nebula with visual hints of the Vanuel system, hinting at future dangerous locations and content expansions. Additionally, the Delmare asteroid and its Lefki landing zone will be reintroduced, featuring the People’s Alliance faction and improved visuals, interior upgrades, and new facilities like refineries and cargo depots.

A major highlight potentially included in 4.4 is the introduction of interstellar hauling missions, allowing players to transport cargo across multiple star systems, including Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx. These missions could involve various ship sizes, multiple pick-up and drop-off points, and encounters with NPC pirates, adding depth to the hauling profession and encouraging the use of escort ships. However, the timing of this feature remains uncertain, with some speculation it might arrive post-4.4 in 2026. Alongside this, two asteroid belts in Nyx—the Glacium Ring and the Kea Belt—will offer mining opportunities, with the Glacium Ring being dense and challenging, and the Kea Belt likely containing points of interest and potential hazards.

The patch will also debut a mission called “Welcome to Nyx,” which will introduce new factions such as the People’s Alliance, Intersect military contractors, Shattered Blade, and the Vanuel. This mission is set on a large, abandoned planetary logistics station that has mysteriously come back online, offering a mix of combat, exploration, and investigation gameplay, along with potential loot rewards. This mission ties into the ongoing ASD storyline, revealing more about illegal black market tech and expanding the lore and narrative depth of the game.

Finally, alongside the core 4.4 content, the IAE event will likely bring new ships such as the Perseus, Apollo variant, RSI Salvager, Aurora Gold Standard, and Hammerhead, enhancing players’ options for exploration and combat within the new system. The patch is expected to include numerous quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and balance updates as well. Overall, Alpha 4.4 sets the stage for an exciting end to the year and a strong foundation for 2026, promising a wealth of new content and features that will expand the Star Citizen universe significantly.
