The Erad Club tested the Ironclad ship in Star Citizen by pooling missions but faced a gameplay limitation restricting active contracts to three, despite having a large crew and cargo capacity. Additionally, a frustrating bug caused the captain to be ejected from the ship during navigation, highlighting unresolved issues that hinder the ship’s full potential and player enjoyment.
With the Orient Relief event nearing its conclusion, the Erad Club decided to test the capabilities of the Ironclad ship by pooling their resources and combining multiple transport missions. Their plan was to maximize efficiency by sharing the workload among the crew and seeing how well the Ironclad could perform with a well-coordinated team. However, they quickly encountered a significant limitation: once a mission was shared within the group, individual members could not take on additional missions themselves. This restriction capped their active contracts at three—small, medium, and large—despite having a crew of five.
These three missions collectively involved transporting over 1,000 Standard Units (SU) of cargo, which the Ironclad could easily accommodate. Yet, the inability to take on more missions limited their operational potential and prevented them from fully leveraging the crew’s capacity. Despite this setback, the team remained enthusiastic about the opportunity to utilize the Ironclad for its intended purpose. For some crew members, this was their first time inside the ship, adding a sense of excitement and anticipation as they prepared to depart from Saraphim station.
Their destination was Microte, where all the mission cargo was to be collected from a single distribution center. This centralized pickup point made the operation more efficient, allowing the crew to gather all cargo in one location before heading back to Orison. The journey through Quantum travel went smoothly, with the captain even taking time to leave the cockpit and check on the crew, enjoying a brief moment of relaxation in his private cabin.
However, the captain’s break was cut short by an unexpected issue. When it was time to return to the command module, he trusted the game’s navigation mechanics too much and attempted to find his way back on his own. Unfortunately, he discovered that the path he took was incorrect, and as a result, he was ejected from the ship. This bug highlighted a frustrating flaw in the game’s design, especially for a ship as large and complex as the Ironclad.
Overall, the experience showcased both the potential and the current limitations of using the Ironclad in Star Citizen. While the ship’s capacity and design are impressive, gameplay restrictions and bugs like the captain’s ejection undermine the effectiveness and enjoyment of operating such a vessel. The video expresses disbelief that the developers have yet to address these issues, which significantly impact the player experience during cooperative missions.
